Case Study: Virtual Marketing Mentor for a Coaching Business

Overview

This is Laila, I have been supporting her for the last few years as a virtual marketing mentor for her coaching business, as well as providing practical marketing and design support. Together, we’ve worked towards strengthening her presence in her new home in Mauritius and gaining clarity on her direction, her offering, and the business she wants to build.

Laila is a wellbeing coach who specialises in helping professional women and leaders build emotional resilience, lead with confidence, and reconnect with themselves. When she relocated from London to Mauritius, she found herself needing to redefine her presence in a very different market while still honouring the previous depth of her work.

The Challenge

Relocating countries meant Laila was essentially starting again – a new audience, new networks, and a different cultural landscape. At the same time, she was managing the emotional and practical realities of life changes, family commitments, and adapting her business model to fit a new environment.

She needed:

My approach as her virtual marketing mentor

Our work is built around a bi-weekly marketing mentoring meetings over Zoom (unfortunately Mauritius is too far for me). These virtual sessions form the foundation of her ongoing progress – a place to untangle ideas, refocus priorities, and translate inspiration into practical next steps.

Alongside strategic support, I’ve helped Laila define how her business shows up:

Podcast to Blog Repurposing: Laila runs her own podcast (link), and I transform each podcast episode into a well-structured, optimised blog article.
Content Creation: We repurpose core messaging into social posts and carousels increasing the reach of those blogs and pods.
Brand Update: Updated LinkedIn banners and featured post graphics to create a confident, cohesive visual presence.
Lead Magnets & Design Support: Occasional branded assets to help nurture her audience and support her programmes.

Looking ahead in her coaching business

As a result of her virtual marketing mentoring, Laila is now preparing to launch a community-based wellbeing group that creates a safe, consistent support space for women in Mauritius and beyond. This next chapter aligns with her strengths: creating connection, compassion, and driving leadership.
